Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance of street lighting, traffic signs, and public facilities to ensure optimal functionality.
- Repair and maintain water mains, fire hydrants, and sewer lines according to strict safety codes and industry standards.
- Clear streets and public rights-of-way of debris, potholes, and snow during inclement weather events.
- Operate heavy machinery, including backhoes, dump trucks, and excavators, with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ensure all work is performed in full compliance with OSHA safety regulations and City of Dallas municipal policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize infrastructure projects and respond to emergency service calls.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical certification in plumbing or mechanics is a plus.
- Valid Class C Texas Driverβs License with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in public works, utilities, or general maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
