Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy municipal equipment, including cranes, forklifts, snow plows, and asphalt pavers.
- Perform essential street and sidewalk maintenance, including pothole repair, curb and gutter repair, and crack sealing.
- Execute snow removal and ice control operations during inclement weather events to ensure public safety.
- Ensure all work areas comply with strict OSHA safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Assist in the repair and maintenance of city infrastructure, including catch basins, fire hydrants, and traffic signs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License with a good driving record is mandatory.
- Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Basic knowledge of construction or maintenance tools and machinery is preferred.
- Strong commitment to public service and attention to detail.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
