Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on city infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, parks, and public buildings.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and equipment, such as jackhammers, backhoes, and lawn mowers, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Repair and install plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems within municipal facilities.
- Maintain landscaping and groundskeeping tasks to preserve the aesthetic appeal of public spaces.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and perform urgent repairs to minimize service disruption.
- Inspect work areas for safety hazards and report necessary repairs to supervisors.
- Collaborate with other city departments to support large-scale community projects.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in general maintenance, construction, or a related trade.
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
