Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Inspect and perform routine maintenance on municipal infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment such as dump trucks, front-end loaders, and excavators.
- Repair and Installation: Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of traffic signs, guardrails, and street lighting.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency work orders and public service requests promptly and professionally.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate daily logs and reports regarding work performed, materials used, and safety observations.
- Community Engagement: Interact professionally with the public and other city departments to resolve service issues.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Licensure: Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform heavy manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly and working in various weather conditions.
- Experience: Prior experience with heavy machinery or power tools is preferred but not mandatory.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliability: A demonstrated commitment to punctuality, attendance, and public safety.
