Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning and execution of public works projects including road maintenance, water systems, and facility management
- Manage departmental budget allocation and ensure compliance with municipal regulations
- Supervise cross-functional teams of engineers, technicians, and administrative staff
- Develop and implement sustainable infrastructure solutions for long-term community growth
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies on infrastructure development initiatives
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety standards and operational efficiency
- Prepare comprehensive reports for City Council and stakeholder communications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in municipal infrastructure management
- Valid Arizona Professional Engineer (PE) or Public Works Manager certification
- Proven expertise in budget management exceeding $1M annually
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and Arizona Department of Transportation regulations
- Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams
- Advanced proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6)
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for municipal systems
