Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs of city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, excavators, and street sweepers
- Respond to public works emergencies during inclement weather
- Conduct infrastructure inspections and prepare detailed maintenance reports
- Collaborate with engineering teams on capital improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety regulations
- Participate in community outreach initiatives related to public works
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years relevant experience
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Experience operating heavy machinery and power tools
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- Basic knowledge of GIS mapping systems
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
