Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair municipal infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, storm drains, and traffic signs.
- Operate heavy machinery, such as backhoes, dump trucks, and jackhammers, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Conduct inspections of public works projects to ensure compliance with local codes and regulations.
- Respond to emergency service calls and citizen complaints regarding public utilities and infrastructure.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of water and sewer systems.
- Collaborate with other city departments to coordinate large-scale public projects.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; trade school certification is preferred.
- Valid Nevada Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials, methods, and safety standards.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting 50+ lbs and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
