Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair on streets, sidewalks, and public infrastructure.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including jackhammers, rollers, and excavators.
- Assist in the installation and repair of traffic signals, streetlights, and signs.
- Respond to emergency calls regarding flooding, fallen trees, or public safety hazards.
- Conduct regular inspections of storm drains and catch basins to prevent blockages.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments to coordinate large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and OSHA standards while working in the field.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and machinery is preferred.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety.
- Experience with municipal work or general labor is a plus.
