Responsibilities
- <ul><li>Perform routine maintenance, repair, and inspection of city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.</li><li>Operate heavy equipment, including dump trucks, backhoes, and loaders, safely and efficiently.</li><li>Respond to citizen inquiries and work orders regarding public infrastructure issues.</li><li>Assist with snow and ice removal operations during winter weather events.</li><li>Ensure all work areas comply with OSHA safety standards and municipal policies.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.</li><li>Collaborate with other city departments to support community projects.</li></ul>
Qualifications
- <ul><li>High School Diploma or GED is required.</li><li>Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a good driving record is mandatory.</li><li>Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.</li><li>Experience with construction machinery or public works maintenance is preferred but not required.</li><li>Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established protocols.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with the public.</li><li>Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.</li></ul>
