Responsibilities
- Manage, preserve, and provide public access to official city records, ordinances, and minutes
- Oversee municipal elections processes including ballot preparation and certification
- Coordinate with city council members and legislative staff for agenda preparation
- Administer public records requests ensuring compliance with RCW and state regulations
- Lead city clerk office operations with team supervision and process optimization
- Facilitate public hearings and official ceremonies with precise documentation
- Maintain municipal code updates and legislative tracking systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal government or records management experience
- Washington State Municipal Clerk certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Expertise in public records laws (RCW 42.56) and election administration
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase)
- Exceptional written communication and public interaction skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with competing priorities
