Responsibilities
- Serve as custodian of official city records, documents, and the municipal seal
- Oversee preparation, distribution, and archiving of City Council agendas and minutes
- Administer oaths, affirmations, and ceremonial duties for public officials
- Manage public records requests in compliance with California Public Records Act
- Coordinate municipal elections and voter education initiatives
- Lead digital transformation of records management systems
- Supervise City Clerk's Office staff and interdepartmental projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government experience with 2+ years in supervisory role
- Expert knowledge of California election law, Brown Act, and public records statutes
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Proven ability to manage complex public records requests and litigation
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams
- Valid California driver's license
