Responsibilities
- Manage all official city records including ordinances, minutes, and vital documents with digital archiving systems
- Administer municipal elections including ballot preparation, polling place coordination, and compliance with state election laws
- Oversee public information requests with timely responses and FOIA protocol adherence
- Coordinate City Council meetings including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and ordinance tracking
- Lead records digitization projects ensuring accessibility and security compliance
- Manage municipal licensing systems for business permits and public records
- Train staff on records management best practices and legal compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years municipal government experience with records management focus
- Minnesota election certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Deep knowledge of Minnesota Open Meeting Law and Government Data Practices Act
- Exceptional written communication skills for public documents and reports
- Project management experience with municipal technology implementations
- Ability to manage sensitive information with absolute discretion
