Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes with precision and confidentiality
- Coordinate City Council agendas, prepare packets, and facilitate public hearings
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and ballot integrity processes
- Ensure compliance with state Sunshine Laws and FOIA regulations
- Lead records digitization initiatives and document management systems
- Serve as primary liaison between public officials and community stakeholders
- Supervise clerk staff and implement process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years municipal government experience with records management
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation strongly preferred
- Expert knowledge of Illinois election laws and Sunshine Act requirements
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional written communication and public speaking abilities
- Proven leadership experience with cross-functional teams
- Valid Illinois driver's license
