Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all official city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with open meeting laws
- Administer municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Coordinate with city departments on document certification and archiving
- Prepare official reports for city council meetings and public hearings
- Supervise records management staff and implement retention policies
- Serve as primary liaison between public officials and constituents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal records management experience
- Deep knowledge of Massachusetts public records laws (MGL c.66)
- Proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Experience supervising administrative staff
