Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex transportation infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with state and federal standards.
- Conduct comprehensive site inspections and technical evaluations to ensure quality control and safety regulations are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including planners and contractors, to optimize project timelines and budgets.
- Review and approve detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations with precision and technical expertise.
- Prepare clear, concise reports and technical presentations for stakeholders, government officials, and project teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to ensure departmental best practices are followed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Colorado is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in civil design, transportation engineering, or related government projects.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS software, and project management tools.
- Strong knowledge of CDOT standards, specifications, and design manuals.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
