Responsibilities
- Design and optimize transportation systems using AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation
- Conduct traffic impact studies and safety assessments for highway projects
- Manage project budgets and timelines for transportation infrastructure initiatives
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local government stakeholders
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and regulatory compliance documents
- Lead field inspections and construction oversight activities
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of transportation engineering experience with state/federal projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina
- Proficiency in transportation modeling software (e.g., Synchro, TransModeler)
- Experience with FHWA and NCDOT design standards
- Demonstrated project management skills with $5M+ budgets
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
