Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive land use plans for urban and rural areas
- Analyze zoning applications and provide recommendations to the Planning Commission
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and sustainability reviews
- Collaborate with community stakeholders on neighborhood revitalization projects
- Prepare professional reports and presentations for county leadership
- Lead public hearings and community outreach initiatives
- Stay current with state/federal planning regulations and best practices
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal or county planning experience
- Valid North Carolina AICP certification required
- Strong GIS mapping and data analysis skills
- Exceptional written/verbal communication abilities
- Experience with public sector budget processes
- Proven project management skills for complex initiatives
