Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive zoning and land-use policies for Baltimore's 12 districts
- Analyze demographic and economic data to inform strategic planning initiatives
- Lead public engagement sessions and community workshops
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and compliance reports
- Collaborate with state agencies on transportation infrastructure projects
- Manage GIS mapping and spatial analysis for urban development
- Oversee capital improvement project budgets and timelines
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal planning experience with zoning code implementation
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS/QGIS) and spatial analysis
- Valid Maryland driver's license with clean record
- Experience with NEPA documentation and environmental reviews
- Demonstrated success in community outreach and mediation
- Knowledge of Maryland's Smart Growth Act and Baltimore City Charter
