Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive land use plans for Jefferson County
- Review zoning applications and provide regulatory recommendations
- Conduct site inspections and enforce compliance with county ordinances
- Prepare reports and presentations for county commissioners
- Collaborate with community stakeholders on planning initiatives
- Stay current with federal/state planning regulations and best practices
- Lead public hearings and community engagement sessions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or related field
- 5+ years of professional planning experience
- Kentucky AICP certification preferred
- Advanced GIS mapping and spatial analysis skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Valid driver's license for county travel
- Experience with public sector budgeting processes
