Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive land use plans and zoning regulations
- Lead community engagement initiatives for major redevelopment projects
- Analyze demographic and economic data to inform planning decisions
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and compliance reports
- Collaborate with engineering and public works departments on infrastructure projects
- Manage grant applications and oversee compliance with federal/state requirements
- Present findings and recommendations to city council and community stakeholders
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in municipal planning or public sector roles
- Strong proficiency in GIS software and spatial analysis tools
- Knowledge of Kansas planning statutes and federal regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to facilitate public meetings and community outreach
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
