Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive land-use plans and zoning regulations for Louisville metropolitan area
- Review and approve development permits ensuring compliance with county ordinances
- Conduct site inspections and prepare detailed environmental impact assessments
- Collaborate with community stakeholders on public engagement initiatives
- Analyze demographic and economic data to inform planning strategies
- Prepare professional reports and presentations for county commission meetings
- Oversee GIS mapping and spatial analysis for planning projects
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal/county government planning experience
- Valid AICP certification required
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS Pro preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Kentucky state planning regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Project management experience with complex development proposals
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse community groups
