Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive neighborhood planning initiatives aligned with Portland's Climate Action Plan
- Develop and implement zoning regulations that promote sustainable development
- Conduct complex environmental impact assessments for major public projects
- Facilitate community engagement sessions with diverse stakeholders
- Prepare and present planning recommendations to the Planning Commission
- Collaborate with transportation and housing departments on integrated strategies
- Manage planning budgets and grant-funded projects
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of urban planning experience in municipal government
- Expert knowledge of Oregon land use planning laws (SB 1547, ORS chapters)
- GIS certification and advanced spatial analysis capabilities
- Proven experience leading public involvement processes
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills
- Valid Oregon driver's license
