Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive land use plans and zoning regulations for Louisville's diverse neighborhoods
- Analyze demographic data and economic trends to inform strategic planning initiatives
- Lead community engagement sessions and public hearings to gather stakeholder input
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and compliance reports for major projects
- Collaborate with engineering and transportation departments on infrastructure planning
- Manage federal grant applications and compliance for HUD-funded initiatives
- Present planning recommendations to the Metro Council and Planning Commission
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in municipal government
- Kentucky AICP certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Expertise in GIS software and spatial analysis tools
- Proven track record of managing community planning projects
- Strong knowledge of federal housing and transportation regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for public presentations
- Valid Kentucky driver's license
