Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive plan updates and zoning ordinance revisions for 1.2M residents
- Analyze land use proposals and provide recommendations to Planning Commission
- Coordinate cross-departmental projects with Transportation, Parks, and Economic Development
- Conduct demographic/economic research using GIS and statistical modeling
- Manage public outreach initiatives including town halls and stakeholder workshops
- Prepare technical reports and policy recommendations for Board of Commissioners
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years progressive planning experience in municipal/county government
- North Carolina AICP certification required
- Advanced proficiency in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and planning software suites
- Strong public speaking and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Portfolio demonstrating successful community development projects
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
