Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to 24/7 security incidents across state agency networks
- Conduct advanced threat hunting using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar)
- Develop and execute penetration testing on state infrastructure
- Lead incident response coordination during cyber emergencies
- Design and implement zero-trust security architectures
- Provide expert guidance to agency IT directors on risk mitigation
- Contribute to statewide cybersecurity policy development
Qualifications
- 5+ years in cybersecurity with 3+ in SOC operations
- CISSP, CEH, or CISM certification required
- Expertise in NIST SP 800-53 framework implementation
- Advanced knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK techniques
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and network segmentation
- Active TS/SCI clearance preferred
- Texas residency required for security clearance
- Ability to work rotating shifts during critical incidents
