Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyze complex datasets from various municipal sources to identify trends and insights.
- Design and develop interactive data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT specialists, policy makers, and city agency partners, to translate data into actionable strategies.
- Perform statistical modeling to forecast city metrics and support long-term infrastructure planning.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with all relevant city and federal regulations and standards.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
- Write technical documentation and reports to support data governance policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar analytical role.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing large datasets.
- Strong experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
- Familiarity with government data standards (e.g., NYC Open Data, 311 data) is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in the public sector or with government entities is a plus.
