Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of food establishments, childcare facilities, and public swimming pools
- Investigate public health complaints related to hazardous materials and sanitation
- Develop and implement environmental health education programs for community stakeholders
- Prepare detailed technical reports and maintain regulatory compliance documentation
- Collaborate with state agencies on emerging environmental health threats
- Mentor junior staff and lead field training exercises
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or related field
- Valid California Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) certification
- Minimum 3 years of field experience in environmental health enforcement
- Strong knowledge of California Title 22 regulations
- Excellent conflict resolution and public communication skills
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and environmental data analysis software
