Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide sustainability plans and climate action strategies
- Lead compliance monitoring for air/water quality regulations and hazardous materials
- Manage grant-funded environmental projects ($1M+ budgets)
- Coordinate interdepartmental sustainability initiatives and stakeholder engagement
- Analyze environmental data and prepare technical reports for regulatory agencies
- Train staff on environmental best practices and regulatory updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of environmental compliance/regulatory experience
- Valid California Registered Environmental Specialist certification
- Advanced proficiency in GIS and environmental data analysis tools
- Experience managing government grants and budgets
- Strong public presentation and community engagement skills
