Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental compliance programs for county infrastructure projects
- Conduct site assessments and prepare technical reports for regulatory agencies
- Lead public outreach initiatives to promote sustainable practices among local businesses
- Coordinate with state and federal agencies on environmental permitting processes
- Mentor junior staff and train county departments on environmental regulations
- Analyze water quality data and recommend pollution prevention measures
- Prepare grant applications to secure funding for environmental initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance or regulatory affairs
- Texas Environmental Professional certification (TEP) or equivalent
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and environmental data analysis tools
- Demonstrated experience with NEPA and state environmental review processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for public presentations
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings/weekends
