Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Federal Pension Specialist to join our Washington, D.C. office. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the integrity and accuracy of our Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) plans, guiding both employees and administrators through complex pension calculations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities
- Administer and interpret Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) policies, ensuring strict compliance with OPM regulations.
- Analyze employee records to calculate accurate pension benefits and determine eligibility for retirement.
- Provide expert consultation and guidance to federal employees regarding retirement options, survivor benefits, and annuities.
- Review and process complex retirement applications, ensuring all documentation meets strict federal standards.
- Collaborate with the HR Payroll team to resolve discrepancies in service credit and retirement calculations.
- Conduct training sessions for agency staff on pension procedures and updates to retirement legislation.
- Maintain and update internal databases and pension tracking systems to ensure data accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience administering federal or state pension plans.
- Deep understanding of FERS, CSRS, and Social Security integration.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to specific scenarios.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for employee counseling.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel required).
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Federal Security Clearance.
