Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-day-to-day operations and maintenance of federal server infrastructure, virtualization environments, and network architectures.
- Implement and monitor robust cybersecurity measures to ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST, and agency-specific security policies.
- Lead the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of complex IT systems, including cloud-based solutions (AWS/Azure) and on-premise legacy systems.
- Conduct regular system audits, vulnerability assessments, and disaster recovery planning to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, developers, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Mentor junior administrators and provide technical guidance on best practices for federal IT governance and compliance.
- Respond to and resolve critical incidents with minimal disruption to agency services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent years of experience).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in systems administration, networking, or IT infrastructure management within a federal or government environment.
- Active Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) and ITIL framework.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced regulatory environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaising with technical and non-technical audiences.
