Responsibilities
- Geospatial Analysis: Develop and maintain complex spatial databases, perform advanced geoprocessing, and create high-quality maps and visualizations for stakeholders.
- Project Leadership: Lead GIS projects from conception to deployment, ensuring alignment with city objectives and technical best practices.
- System Integration: Integrate GIS data with other enterprise systems (e.g., CAD, ERP) to streamline municipal operations.
- Public Engagement: Create interactive web maps and dashboards to communicate complex data to the public and city council members.
- Data Management: Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all geospatial assets.
- Tech Support: Provide technical guidance and training to junior analysts and non-technical staff on GIS software and tools.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, preferably within a government or public sector organization.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, Python, SQL, and at least one web mapping platform (ArcGIS Online, Leaflet, or similar).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to diverse audiences.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of troubleshooting complex spatial problems.
- Certification: GISP (GIS Professional) certification is highly desirable.
