Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex GIS databases and spatial data models to support county operations.
- Analyze spatial data to provide actionable insights for urban planning, public health, and environmental conservation.
- Lead the integration of GIS data with other enterprise systems and external datasets.
- Provide technical support and training to department staff regarding GIS software and applications.
- Prepare high-quality maps, charts, and reports for executive stakeholders and public presentations.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with federal and state standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Urban Planning, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS analysis and application development.
- Advanced proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and ArcSDE.
- Strong programming skills in Python or SQL for data automation and querying.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or QGIS is a plus.
- Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel to various county sites.
