Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the County's enterprise GIS database, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Develop complex spatial analyses and interactive web maps for public and internal stakeholders using ArcGIS and custom scripting.
- Collaborate with civil engineers, urban planners, and emergency responders to integrate geospatial data into infrastructure projects and disaster response plans.
- Perform quality assurance on geospatial data sets, validating coordinates and attribute data against source materials.
- Provide technical training and support to department staff regarding GIS software and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, cartography, or database management.
- Expert proficiency in ArcGIS Desktop and Server, as well as scripting languages like Python or JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of spatial database structures (SQL) and geodatabase architecture.
- Experience working within a government or public sector environment is highly desirable.
