Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality geospatial databases and mapping applications using ArcGIS and related technologies.
- Perform complex spatial analysis to support county infrastructure projects, emergency management, and urban planning.
- Collaborate with engineering and planning departments to translate technical data into user-friendly visualizations.
- Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with state and federal data standards.
- Provide technical training and support to internal staff regarding GIS software and tools.
- Oversee the digitization of legacy maps and the integration of real-time data streams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Advanced proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and Python scripting.
- Strong understanding of SQL databases and web service technologies (WMS, WFS).
- Experience with cartography and creating professional-quality maps for public presentations.
- Ability to obtain a background check and security clearance as required for government employment.
