In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and implementation of geographic information systems (GIS) projects that support critical county operations, from urban planning to emergency response. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform complex spatial data into actionable intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of GIS projects, from requirement gathering to final data delivery.
- Develop and maintain complex geodatabases and spatial models using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Conduct advanced spatial analysis to support policy decisions and resource allocation.
- Create high-quality web maps, interactive dashboards, and visualizations for public access.
- Mentor junior staff and conduct training sessions on GIS best practices and software tools.
- Integrate remote sensing data and satellite imagery into county datasets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in GIS analysis and software development.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and Python scripting.
- Strong understanding of SQL databases and database management principles.
- Experience with cloud-based GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Online) is highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
