Responsibilities
- System Administration: Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and network segments.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose, isolate, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime for county staff and citizens.
- Project Management: Lead IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Security Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive government data against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for system upgrades, maintenance, and hardware procurement.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system diagrams, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in IT systems analysis, network administration, or a related role within the public or private sector.
- Certifications: CompTIA Network+ or Security+ certification is highly desirable. Active CISSP or CCNA is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Server environments, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Ability to work flexible hours during peak system maintenance windows or emergencies.
