Position Overview:
The Senior IT Analyst will lead complex technical projects, design innovative solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the District's digital landscape. You will act as a technical subject matter expert, providing guidance on system architecture, data management, and security protocols.
Responsibilities
- Lead Technical Initiatives: Oversee the end-to-life cycle of major IT projects, from requirements gathering and system design to implementation and post-deployment support.
- System Architecture & Integration: Design and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and integrate disparate systems to ensure seamless data flow across DC government agencies.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and monitor robust cybersecurity measures, ensuring adherence to federal and district compliance standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST).
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for agency stakeholders, translating technical requirements into clear business solutions.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze system performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and uptime.
- Technical Guidance: Mentor junior analysts and engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems analysis, software development, or infrastructure management.
- Certifications: Active certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, PMP, or CISSP are highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java, or C#), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and database management (SQL/NoSQL).
- DC Government Experience: Preference may be given to candidates with prior experience working within District of Columbia government agencies.
- Residency: Preference given to District of Columbia residents.
