Key Responsibilities
- Lead Complex Initiatives: Manage the full project lifecycle from concept through deployment for high-stakes IT systems.
- Agile Leadership: Facilitate Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure team efficiency.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for county officials, vendors, and internal departments.
- Budget & Resource Oversight: Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and allocate resources effectively.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all projects adhere to Harris County policies, procurement regulations, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification: PMP, PgMP, or similar Project Management certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on government or large-scale enterprise environments.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), DevOps practices, and modern software development methodologies.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical stakeholders.
- Tools: Expert level in Jira, Confluence, MS Project, and other PM collaboration tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project lifecycle management for County IT initiatives.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and team stand-ups.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate progress via status reports.
- Oversee project budgets and ensure resource allocation is optimized.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and dependencies.
- Ensure compliance with Harris County procurement and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field.
- PMP or PgMP certification required.
- 5+ years of experience in IT project management.
- Strong proficiency in Jira, MS Project, and cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
- Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
