Responsibilities
- Architect and develop robust web-based applications using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Node.js) and back-end languages (Java, Python).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and subject matter experts, to translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Maintain and optimize legacy systems while leading modernization initiatives to improve performance and user experience.
- Ensure all software development processes adhere to strict security standards, compliance regulations (e.g., NIST, FISMA), and best practices.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, perform unit and integration testing, and mentor junior developers to foster a culture of technical excellence.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues in production environments and provide timely resolutions to minimize service disruption.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience in a government or enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in at least two major programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python) and a strong understanding of web development standards (HTML5, CSS3, REST APIs).
- Experience with database management systems (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality, maintainable code.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
