We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Information Technology Specialist to oversee our network infrastructure and cybersecurity protocols. Responsibilities
- Manage Network Infrastructure: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Enhance Cybersecurity: Implement and monitor security measures to protect sensitive government data against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- System Administration: Configure and troubleshoot operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and database management systems to support internal operations.
- Project Leadership: Lead technical initiatives, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure software upgrades and hardware deployments are completed on schedule.
- Technical Support & Training: Provide advanced troubleshooting for staff and conduct training sessions to improve digital literacy across the department.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configurations and ensure all technical processes adhere to state and federal compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in IT systems administration or network engineering.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or CISSP are strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is highly desirable.
- Government Experience: Experience working within a state or local government environment is a significant plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
