Responsibilities
- Lead IT Infrastructure Projects: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex IT systems and network architectures.
- Ensure Data Security: Implement and monitor robust cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive state data and comply with Texas state regulations.
- Optimize System Performance: Analyze system logs and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide Technical Consultation: Serve as the subject matter expert for technical teams, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting complex issues.
- Manage Vendor Relations: Collaborate with external vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality software and hardware solutions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT project management or systems administration within a government or enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, or C#; strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and virtualization technologies.
- Methodology: Demonstrated experience with ITIL, Agile, or Waterfall methodologies.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
