Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems and network infrastructure for state agencies.
- Lead technical projects from initiation through deployment, ensuring adherence to timeline and budget constraints.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal information security policies and cybersecurity standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular system audits and provide technical guidance to junior staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT project management.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with government IT frameworks and security compliance (e.g., FISMA) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various state facilities if required.
