Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and manage complex IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and cloud environments.
- Oversee cybersecurity protocols, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations (FISMA, NIST).
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for high-impact systems to ensure 99.99% uptime for government services.
- Collaborate with agency stakeholders to modernize legacy systems and improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement disaster recovery solutions to protect sensitive citizen data.
- Mentor junior staff and conduct technical training sessions within the IT department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure or systems administration.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, or AWS Solutions Architect are highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud services (Azure/AWS).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a New York State Government security clearance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder reporting.
