Responsibilities
- System Architecture & Management: Lead the design and implementation of scalable cloud infrastructure and on-premise solutions for state agencies.
- Project Leadership: Manage cross-functional teams to deliver high-priority IT projects on time and within budget, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
- Cybersecurity Oversight: Implement and monitor security protocols to safeguard sensitive government data and ensure adherence to federal and state security standards.
- Technical Innovation: Evaluate emerging technologies to recommend solutions that enhance operational efficiency and citizen services.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure all technical operations align with the California Government Code and departmental strategic goals.
- Talent Development: Mentor junior staff and conduct technical training sessions to foster a culture of excellence.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Information Technology, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior specialist role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java, Python, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure). Strong knowledge of government IT frameworks.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and government officials.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex system failures and devise resilient solutions.
- Government Knowledge: Understanding of public sector procurement processes and compliance requirements is highly desirable.
