Responsibilities
- System Administration: Manage and maintain complex server environments, ensuring high availability and performance for state applications.
- Cybersecurity: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive government data against cyber threats and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects, including system upgrades and software deployments.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and guidance to junior staff and internal stakeholders.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams and operational procedures.
- Innovation: Research and recommend emerging technologies to improve government efficiency and service delivery.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration, network engineering, or software development.
- Certifications: Valid certification such as CompTIA Security+, AWS Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator is strongly desired.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, or .NET; experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and virtualization technologies.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with government contracting standards and data privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) is a plus.
