Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of secure, scalable IT infrastructure solutions to support state agency needs.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of server environments, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical requirements and provide expert consultation on system architecture.
- Monitor system performance and security, conducting regular audits to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with state regulations.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all technical processes and system configurations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure.
- Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
