Responsibilities
- Threat Analysis & Response: Monitor network traffic and security systems to identify, analyze, and respond to cyber threats and incidents in real-time.
- Security Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain robust cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, CUI) to protect agency data.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to proactively identify and remediate security gaps.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure all IT operations comply with federal regulations, including FISMA, DFARS, and agency-specific security policies.
- Incident Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on security breaches and incident response actions for leadership review.
- Training & Support: Provide technical guidance and cybersecurity awareness training to junior staff and government personnel.
Qualifications
- Clearance: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance required (must be willing to maintain).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or information assurance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), firewalls, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for briefing senior leadership.
