Responsibilities
- Manage Federal Networks: Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and security of local and wide-area networks (LAN/WAN) supporting federal agency operations.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to ensure compliance with NIST standards, FISMA, and agency-specific policies.
- Incident Response: Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime for federal clients.
- System Administration: Administer servers, databases, and virtualized environments using industry-standard technologies (Windows Server, Linux, etc.).
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with third-party vendors to manage contracts, upgrades, and service level agreements (SLAs).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in IT support or systems administration within a government or highly regulated environment.
- Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent DoD 8570 compliance certifications are highly preferred.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in TCP/IP, VPNs, Active Directory, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
