Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, configuration, and maintenance of the City's network infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime and security.
- Cybersecurity Leadership: Implement and monitor advanced security protocols to protect sensitive government data and prevent cyber threats.
- Project Leadership: Lead critical IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide high-level technical troubleshooting for complex hardware and software issues affecting city departments.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all IT operations adhere to state and federal regulations, including FOIA requirements and data privacy laws.
- Team Mentorship: Mentor junior IT staff and conduct training sessions to enhance the overall technical proficiency of the department.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, or systems engineering.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or CISSP are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud technologies (AWS/Azure), virtualization, and enterprise-level hardware/software management.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of government procurement processes and data compliance standards.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
